# Privacy

The short version: the tools run on your device, nothing you tick or type leaves it, and the site sets no cookies.

## What the tools do with your answers

The problem checker, pest identifier, bloom planner, poinsettia tools and plant search all run as code in your browser. Your answers, dates and searches are used on the page and then forgotten when you leave. Calendar (.ics) files are generated in your browser and saved straight to your device. Nothing is uploaded, and the site makes no network requests of its own beyond loading its pages.

## What is stored on your device

One thing: if you choose a light or dark theme with the toggle, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name mendpetal-theme, so the next page opens in the same theme. Choosing Auto removes it. The site sets no cookies.

## Analytics

Mend Petal uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it never receives what you type, tick or pick in the tools. The pages are served by Cloudflare, which handles each page request as any web host does.

## Links to other sites

Pages link to their sources (university extension services, the RHS, the ASPCA and others) and to a few other sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
